Private Banking Executive Moves

Q2 2026

Aargauische Kantonalbank

  • Dieter Widmer, who has served as Chief Executive Officer and Chair of the Group Executive Board for eight years, has stepped down and left the bank in May 2027. Succession planning is in progress.

Bank von Roll

  • The family-owned bank has extended its Executive Board by two new members: Michael Schnetzer and Philipp Würmli. Schnetzer is heading Asset Management at an Executive level, he has led that practice in-house for the past 4 years and brings his expertise now to the Executive Board. Würmli is joining the company as Head of Private Banking. Both have assumed their new positions in April 2026.

Basellandschaftliche Kantonalbank

  • Alexandra Scriba transitioned into her role as Chief Executive Officer on 1 May 2026, succeeding Christoph Schär, who had served as interim CEO for nearly a year and will return to his role as Head of Technologies and Corporate Services and Deputy CEO after supporting the transition.
  • The Basel-Land Cantonal Council has appointed Thomas Aegerter as Chair of the Bank Council. Aegerter succeeds Thomas Bauer, who has led the council ad interim since September 2025 and will step down as such by. Aegerter has assumed Chairmanship by 1 July 2026 with Bauer remaining in the bank council until 30 June 2027 in mutual agreement with both the canton and the banking council. 

Bitpanda

  • Barbara Edelmann is the new Chief Financial Officer since 12 June 2026, as Jonas Larsen has left the company due to personal reasons. Edelmann previously was Vice President Finance and Tax and Managing Director of Bitpanda and Bitpanda Payments entities.
  • Commercial Director, Austria and Switzerland, Martin Beranek has stepped down in May 2026 and assumed a new role at his ventures Forca Marketing and Spades Consulting. It has not yet been communicated who will succeed Beranek in his role at Bitpanda.

HSBC Private Bank

  • Raphael Ostfeld joined as Head of Switzerland Domestic in May 2026, coming from Pictet Wealth Management. He has assumed responsibility over the expansion of domestic practice focusing on UHNWI, private clients and singe family offices.
  • Anna Zakrzewski has been appointed as the Chief Operating Officer EMEA / Switzerland and has joined as member of the Executive Committee of HSBC’s Swiss Private Bank in April 2026.
  • Alfonso Gómez has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Swiss Private Bank, and Country Head of HSBC Switzerland, and assumed this role on 27 April 2026. Gómez succeeded Daniel Calado who held the position on an interim basis and has resumed his role as Chief Financial Officer Switzerland / EMEA, and member of the executive committee.

Julius Bär

  • Chief Financial Officer Evie Kostakis announced her resignation by December 2026. A succession process has started with a handover expected by mid-2027. She will assume a new international leadership position. 

LGT Capital Partners

  • Marco Bizzozero is set to join the Executive Committee as a Managing Partner with effect from 1 September 2026. His regulatory approval is pending. He previously served as Head of International and a Member of the Executive Committee at iCapital.

Schweizerischen Bankiervereinigung SBVg

  • Marcel Rohner is stepping down as President of the Swiss Bankers Association. He is position over to Giorgio Pradelli after five years of tenure. The Board of Directors appointed his succession on 1 May. Pradelli will assume presidency on 1 September 2026.

Sygnum

  • Martina Stettler has been called to the Board as AML and Compliance Committee and Member of the Audit and Risk Committee on 28 May 2026. Her appointment is yet pending FINMA’s approval. Predecessor Kim Leng Chua has left the board but will remain closely connected to the bank and pursue other internal engagements. Also Fernando Luis Vázquez Cao and Luka Müller have stepped down, Müller will remain Member of the Advisory Board and has been named Chairman Emeritus.
  • Simon Schneider has been appointed Chief Executive Officer Europe, a new position with focus on leading local operations since 28 May 2026. Reto Marx has been appointed Chief Executive Officer Singapore and assumes his role on 1 August 2026. A stronger pivot to Asia is to come with the new role of Executive Chairman APAC which Co-Founder Gerald Goh will assume also by 1 August 2026. 
  • The Group Executive Board will also expand and bring in a new Chief Compliance Officer by September 2026. There is also a new role to be established leading Wealth Management reporting to the Group CEO, with the intention to create a stronger dedicated focus for the increasingly distinct needs of Private Wealth and Institutional clients. 
  • Dominic Lohberger, former Chief Product Officer has stepped down and left the bank on 1 June 2026 to pursue entrepreneurial opportunities.

PostFinance

  • Kamila Horackova, Chief Investment Officer of NN Group has been appointed Non-Executive Director. She is succeeding Hans Lauber, as he retires from the Board after 12 years of tenure. She assumed his role via the date of announcement on 13 April 2026 and is member of the Risk and Audit & Compliance Committee.
  • The Board of Directors has also appointed Christoph Paul Kurth as successor to Bernadette Koch, as she left the Board at the end of March 2026. He assumed his board seat in June 2026 and joined the Audit & Compliance Committee.

Urner Kantonalbank

  • The Bank Council of Uri has appointed Christoph Wiederkehr as a new member of the executive board. Wiederkehr will assume responsibility of Corporate Strategy by 1 December 2026 and succeeds Urs Eichenberger who is retiring at the end of the year.

Zürcher Kantonalbank

  • Maurizio Pedrini, former Head of Credit, has been appointed Head of Fixed Income. He assumed full responsibility on 1 July 2026. His predecessor Sébastien Zöller, had moved to the trading division in June and now leads the Interest Rate and Credit Instruments unit.

Zuger Kantonalbank

  • Alex Müller has been appointed Head of Private Banking and heads that practice since 15 June 2026. He has taken over from Marcel Wespi, who chose to redirect his focus on client advisory.
