Harry Lin is a senior member of the Global Technology Practice at Russell Reynolds Associates. Based jointly in Hong Kong and Beijing, Harry has more than 15 years of experience working in technology, telecom and fintech/financial services industries in China and the US. He concentrates on a diverse range of assignments across multiple sectors, including CIO/CTO, Chief Data and Analytics Officer, Chief Digital Officer, Head of Product Engineering, General Manager and CEO. He is a valued advisor to clients, leveraging his entrepreneurial mindset and deep industry expertise across digital transformation, cloud services, Internet of Things, big data, 5G and IT strategy and infrastructure to help companies and their leaders succeed in the digital era. He is also active in Russell Reynolds Associates’ Private Equity Practice.
Prior to Russell Reynolds, Harry worked at Equanum Capital Management, a US-based TMT-focused hedge fund, where he focused on Greater China technology investments. Before that, Harry was with Thomson Reuters in China, where he served as Principal TMT Analyst and Head of Expert Networks, working closely with technology leaders within the telecommunications, semi-conductors and wireless internet industries and building a community of experts within the Pan-Asia region. Prior to working in the financial sector, Harry had over nine years of experience in the wireless telecommunications equipment and handset industry in China, Hong Kong and Korea. He was the Head of Global Core Networks for Motorola in Beijing, where he led the product team at the Motorola-Huawei Joint Research Development Center (JRDC) program. Harry started his career in Hong Kong and held various influential roles within Nortel’s R&D, product management, operations, sales and marketing teams, eventually becoming Senior Manager of the Greater China region.
Education & Affiliations
Harry received a BASc in electrical engineering from the University of British Columbia and his Beijing International MBA (BiMBA) from Peking and Fordham Universities. He speaks fluent Cantonese, Mandarin and English.
