Stephen Small

Originally from Canada, Stephen began his search career in London before relocating to Hong Kong in 2004. He has spent his entire, 20 plus year career focusing on the investment banking and private equity spaces and, prior to joining RRA, Stephen founded and led a boutique search firm in Asia-Pacific for more than a decade.

He has worked with a number of international and domestic banking and private equity clients over the course of his career, completing senior-level searches and team builds across the region. Stephen has an established track-record of advising clients on building and structuring high-performing teams with a particular focus on country, sector, and product specialists within banks and private capital funds. Recent work includes global roles based in Hong Kong, redeveloping onshore and offshore coverage capabilities in China for investment banks as well as building investment and fundraising teams for leading private equity firms and developing M&A capabilities for corporates across a variety of jurisdictions throughout Asia Pacific.
