I come from a family of gardeners. Beth Chatto, a great English gardener, had a saying: “Right plant, right place.” A prime specimen rose, planted in the wrong place, won’t thrive. The same is true in our business, and the art of what we do lies in knowing exactly how to get the planting scheme right so the result flourishes (rather than the alternative of becoming an ugly mess!)

Laura received her MA in English and her MPhil in medieval and renaissance literature, together with three scholarships, from Trinity College, Cambridge University. She became a Fellow of Winchester College in 2020.
