J. Hewins leads C-level executive assessment and succession planning across a range of industries. Now based in San Francisco, J. has worked on six continents during his 20-year career. He has led numerous leadership consulting projects, including executive coaching and executive transition, top team effectiveness and broad-based leadership development. J. works with boards, CEOs and CHROs of blue-chip corporations across a range of industries, including oil and gas, metals and mining, technology, professional services and diversified manufacturing industries. He also works with venture capital and private equity investors and their portfolio companies in the natural resources, software, hardware, materials science, and life science industries.

Previously, J. was a partner in the leadership consulting practice of a global executive search firm. Earlier in his career, J. worked at Spencer Trask & Co., a private equity and venture capital firm, served as a strategy consultant at Mitchell Madison Group/USWeb-CKS/marchFIRST, and was director of research for RLM Associates, a boutique retained executive search firm.

J. has a BA in cultural anthropology from Columbia University (summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa) and an MBA in finance and organizational behavior from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago.
