Aegon

Alison Morris has been appointed as the new Chief Risk Officer for Aegon UK, replacing Colin Black who has been acting Chief Risk Officer since January 2022.

Allianz SE

Jon-Paul Jones is announced as Global Head of Business Transformation, having previously been regional Chief Operating Officer. His successor is Kim Leng Teh.

Aon

Pietro Toffanello will become Head of Reinsurance Solutions for Italy, taking over from the current CEO, Gianluca Venturini, who is to become Chair of the regional reinsurance business.
In an internal move, Howard Bryne has succeeded Melissa Thomas as Managing Director for the firm’s Cayman Operations. Melissa Thomas will be departing the firm.
Maria Johannessen is joining the firm as a Senior Partner and Investment Client Leader. She previously worked as a corporate strategy advisor at PwC, BlackRock Asset Management and UBS.
Angela James is appointed as Chief Broking Officer for Commercial Risk in the UK.
Charles Alberts stepped down from his position as Head, Health and Wellbeing Management. He joins Clifford Chance in a newly created role of Global Head of Wellbeing and Employee Experience.

Aviva

Amit Malik will step down as CEO of the firm’s Indian operations. Succeeding him is Asit Rath, previously CEO of Prudential Myanmar Life Insurance.
Charlotte Jones will be joining Aviva as CFO, from her previous role as interim CEO at RSA. She will be joining in September and replaces Jason Windsor, who resigned in July 2022 to take the position of CFO at Persimmon plc.
Colin Simpson is the interim CFO until Charlotte joins. He will be continuing with his current role as CFO of the Canadian business unit.

AXA XL

Elizabeth (Libby) Benet is appointed to the role of Global Chief Underwriting Officer, previously held by Nancy Bewlay, who recently assumed leadership of the company’s reinsurance lines.
David Brooks is promoted to Chief Underwriting Officer for the Americas, a newly created role. He was previously Chief Risk Officer for the Americas.
Thisiani Matsumura-Martins has been promoted to Global Chief Underwriting Officer for Aerospace, effective April 1, 2022. Prior to this, she was Regional Chief of Staff within the same division.
François Boissin stepped down as Vice President, Investor Relations in March 2022 to become Senior Sales Manager of AXA Investment Managers.
Andrew Wallace-Barnet, currently Head of Investor Relations, has been promoted to Group Chief Compliance following the announcement that Ian Johnson, the incumbent, intends to retire.

Chubb

Ed Nicklin joins Chubb in the newly created role of Global Client Executive after over 8 years at Allianz.
Joseph Clabby steps down from his role, Speciality Officer for Chubb’s Middle Market Commercial Insurance Business, and is succeeded by Leigh Anne Sherman.
Sherman’s previous role, Divisional President for ESIS, is succeeded by Jim Shevlin, previously Regional Exec for the South East region.
Chad Yarlagadda is promoted to Jim Shelvin’s previous role after a number of years at the company.
Suresh Krishnan joins Shelvin as Chief Operating Officer for ESIS. He most recently served as Head of North America accident and Health.
Lauren Gillette, most recently Chief Operating officer of the N. American Accident and Health lines, becomes Executive VP for the same division.
Cheryl Kraus has been appointed to Chief Communications Officer. She joins from Barings where she held the same title. She succeeds Patrick McGovern, who will take on an internal role supporting the CEO.
In the Overseas General Insurance arm, John Thompson has been promoted to Vice President, Chubb Group and Division President of International Personal Lines. Daniela Hernandez is also appointed into the new role of Division President of International Accident and Health within the same division. John Thompson is succeeding Darryl Page, who is retiring.
Paul Johnstone, currently Chief Operating Officer in the company’s Canada business, is promoted to Country President. He succeeds John Alfieri, who is retiring.
Following Chubb’s recent acquisition of Cigna’s life, accident and supplemental benefits business in Asia, the firm appoints Jee Eun Cho to lead the Korean Division. She was most recently CEO of the Cigna business.
In New Zealand, Gail Costa will lead the newly acquired segment from Cigna. She was most recently CEO of Cigna Life New Zealand.

Everest Re

Joe Stuhl is promoted to the newly created position of SVP for Global Distribution. He joins from his previous role of Vice President, Broker Executive at Munich Re, where he spent over 20 years.
Brent Hoffmann joins Everest Re as Head of Claims and Chief Operations Officer. He previously worked for AXA as Chief Claims Officer.
David Harris succeeds Ellen Edmonds in the role of Chief Reserving Actuary. He was most recently occupying the same role at SCOR. Ellen Edmonds has joined Coaction Global as Chief Actuarial Officer.
Mathew Rohrmann joins as Senior Vice President, Head of Investor Relations. Most recently he was Global Head of Investor Relations at Axis Capital.
Jiten Voralia will succeed Dennis Alba, who is retiring, as Head of Treaty, Casualty and Surety.

Helvetia holding

Jan Kundert will be appointed as Head of Customer and Market Management. Kundert is currently CEO of European Travel Insurance ERV, a branch of Helvetia. He is to take over from Martin Tschopp, who took over as CEO at MoneyPark in May.

Hiscox

Stephane Flaquet is promoted to Group Chief Operating Officer, having been with the company for over 10 years. His most recent role was regional Chief Executive Officer for the UK.

Munich Re

Tobias Frenz, previously head of Digital Solutions for Life and Health, is promoted to CEO of the firm’s Singapore Branch, as well as overseeing the business’s life and digital solutions in the region.

Partner Re

Sima Ruparelia will join the company as Chief Actuarial & Risk Officer. She was most recently Chief Actuary & Portfolio Manager for the UK for AIG’s European operations.

Prudential

Anil Wadhwani will join as Group Chief Executive Officer in January 2023. He previously held the Chief Executive position for Manulife in Asia. He will be succeeding Mark Fitzpatrick, the interim group CEO, who will support Anil Wadhwani in his transition.
James Turner is promoted to Group Chief Financial Officer, promoted from his previous role of Group Chief Risk and Compliance Officer.
Avnish Kalra is promoted to Group Chief Risk and Compliance Officer and Executive Committee member of Prudential Plc from his position of Chief Risk Officer, Prudential Asia.
Nic Nicandrou will step down as Chief Executive Officer for the Africa & Asia businesses to seek new opportunities. His successor is yet to be announced.
Stan Little joins Prudential as U.S. Business Chief Marketing Officer. Prior to his appointment, Stan was working as Chief Experience Officer for United Way Worldwide.
Solmaz Altin joins Prudential as Group Strategic Transformation Officer. He was most recently regional CEO of the Asia-Pacific region for Alliance.

Swiss Re

In an internal move, Russell Higginbotham has been appointed Chief Executive Officer Reinsurance Solutions and member of the Reinsurance Management Team, effective 1 April 2022 after stepping down as Chief Executive Officer/Regional President of Reinsurance Asia.
Paul Murray was promoted to Chief Executive Officer Reinsurance Asia and Regional President Asia, and member of the Swiss Re Group EC, as of 1 April 2022, succeeding Russell Higginbotham.

Willis Towers Watson

Frank Schepers succeeds Alice Underwood as Head of the company’s Insurance, Consulting and Technology business, as Alice Underwood prepares for retirement.
Tony Kantapasara is promoted to Country Leader for Thailand, in addition to his current role as Leader for Work & Rewards across the company’s regional Health, Wealth & Career business. He succeeds Philippe Robineau, who will focus on his role as Country Leader for Vietnam.
WTW has appointed Taffy Jo Mayers as Head, Insurance Consulting and Technology, Commercial Lines Pricing and Underwriting Propositions. Mayers most recently served as Head of Commercial P&C and Specialty Insurance and Underwriting Transformation for EY North America.
James Martuscelli is appointed as Head of The Real Estate & Hospitality Industry Practice within Corporate Risk and Broking (CRB), North America.

Zurich Insurance Group

Sarah Maillet joins Zurich as Chief Financial Officer for the company’s commercial insurance business. She has several years’ experience in the insurance industry, including companies like Aviva and AIG.
Zurich Life & Investments appointed Suzi Leung to the role of Chief Claims Officer, from her previous role of Division Chief Operations Officer, Zurich Financial Services Australia Ltd. Suzi will be reporting to Hilary Bates, Chief Operating Officer of Zurich Life & Investments.
Paul Horgan is promoted as Senior Advisor to the CEO for Zurich North America from his previous role as Head of U.S. National Accounts for Zurich North America.

Americas

AIG

Sabra Purtill has been promoted from Chief Risk Officer to Chief Investment Officer.
Tom Bolt, previously Chief Underwriting Officer, will succeed her.

CNA Financial

Joyce Bellows has stepped down from her position as Senior Vice President, Internal Audit at CNA Financial to join Hagerty Inc on the same position on 24th May 2022.

CNO Financial Group

Brian Schneider has been promoted to Chief Risk Officer, having previously been Vice President, Enterprise Risk Management for CNO. He succeeds Karen DeToro, Chief Actuary, who previously managed both the Risk and Actuarial functions.

Erie Indemnity

Partha Srinivasa joins Erie Insurance as Chief Information Officer, a newly created role. He was most recently Chief Data and Information Officer for Verisk, a risk data platform.
Jon Bloom is promoted to Senior Vice President, Personal Products, succeeding Ruben Fechner who retired in December. He is currently the Vice President for the company’s personal automobile lines.
Sapan Patel is appointed as Senior Vice President, Experience. He joins from Main Street America Insurance, where he was Assistant Vice President for Customer Care and Support.
Jim Nealon has also been promoted to Senior Vice President, Law. He succeeds Brian Bolash, who was promoted to Executive Vice President in late 2021.

Liberty Mutual

David Long, Chief Executive Officer, will retire in late 2022. He will be succeeded by Timothy Sweeney in January 2023. Timothy Sweeney has spent over 25 years with the company, most recently occupying the position of President for Liberty Mutual Insurance.
Monica Caldas has been named Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer, effective January 2023. Current Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer James
McGlennon announced his retirement at the end of 2022.
Liberty Mutual Insurance has announced the appointment of Melanie Foley as Executive Vice President and Chief Administration Officer, effective July. Foley has been with Liberty Mutual for more than 25 years and has served in a variety of areas across the company’s US Personal Insurance business unit.

Lincoln National

Ellen Cooper is announced as president and CEO of the group, and will be joining the board of directors. She was named CEO-Elect in August and succeeds Dennis Glass, who is currently chairman of the board.
Stephen Turner has been promoted to Head of the Annuity Business, succeeding Brian Kroll who is retiring. Stephan was most recently head of Annuity Solutions Pricing, Product and Valuation.

Manulife Financial

Damien Green has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer for Manulife Asia, where he was previously CEO for the Hong Kong Branch. He succeeds Anil Wadhwani, who has departed the firm to join Prudential where he will be Group CEO. Pankaj Banerjee, Chief Distribution Officer for Manulife Asia, will serve as Interim CEO for the Hong Kong business.
Aravind Srinivas joins Manulife as Chief Risk Officer for Asia, from MunichRe where he was Managing Director for Life, Health & HNW for South East Asia.
Naveed Irshad is appointed CEO of the company’s Canada segment. He is currently Global Head of Inforce Management and Head of Manulife's North American Legacy Business.
Marc Costanti re-joins Manulife from MunichRe, as Global Head of Inforce Management. At MunichRe he held the position of CEO for Corporate Development, Strategy and Digital Solutions for the company's North America Life & Health business.

Markle Corp Company

Richard Whitt has announced his intention to retire from his current role as Co-Chief Executive Officer by March 2023. Jeremy Noble, SVP and Chief Financial Officer will assume Richard Whitt’s responsibilities upon his retirement. Thomas Gayner, Co-CEO, will become Chief Executive Officer and continue his role as Chief Investment Officer. Richard Whitt will remain in a consulting role to ensure a smooth transition.
Michael Heaton, currently President of Markel ventures, will assume the newly created role of Executive Vice President of Markel. Andrew Crowley will succeed Michael Heaton as president for Markel Ventures.
Bryan Dressler has been appointed to Head of Warranty and Indemnity for the firm’s professional and financial risk division. He was mostly recently working with Arch, where he held the role of Assistant Vice President, Transactional Risk Insurance Products.
Morris Taylor has been promoted to Chief Information Officer from his previous role as Managing Director for IT.

Marsh & McLennan

John Jones is promoted to Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, from his previous role of Senior Vice President, Business Planning.

MetLife

Chris Rosello joins MetLife as Head of Federal Government relations, from HSBC where he was Head of US Public Affairs.
John Hall has been promoted to Executive Vice President & Treasurer, having previously been Global Head of Investor Relations.
Lyndon Oliver is promoted to Regional President for MetLife Asia, following his role as Treasurer and Head of Strategy.
Dimitri Lorenzon has been promoted to Chief Financial Officer within the company’s Global Technology and Operations division. He was previously Head of Strategy for MetLife Japan.
Kishore Ponnavolu, Regional President, Asia, stepped down effective June 30, 2022, and returned to the U.S. to explore the next chapter in his career. Ponnavolu joined MetLife in 2011 as Chief Enterprise Strategy Officer where he helped develop the company’s global strategy.
David Glenn left his role as associate director in April 2022 to explore other opportunities.
Kia Lindsay left her role as Vice President, Human Resources business partner at MetLife to join versant health as Chief Human Resources Officer in April 2022.

Nationwide Mutual Insurance

Laura Titas stepped down from her role as Senior Vice President/Chief Data Officer in May 2022 to pursue opportunities at Google as Managing Director.

New York Life Insurance

Natalie Lamarque is stepping down as Senior Vice President/General Counsel to join Principal Financial Group Inc as Executive Vice President /General Counsel/Corporate Secretary effective August 2022.

Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co

Jeff Sippel has been promoted to Chief Information Officer from his previous role of Vice President, Client Experience. He replaces Neal Sample, who has left the firm to pursue new opportunities.

Truist

Daryl Bible, Chief Financial Officer, has announced his intentions to retire, but will continue in his role until his replacement is named.
Joel Simkins stepped down as Head of Gaming & Leisure Investment Banking to join as Managing Director, Technology Group, New York at Houlihan Lokey Inc. in June 2022.

USAA

Clyde Douglas has joined USAA as Chief Claims Officer. He was most recently Chief Operations Officer of global claims at Chubb.
Elena Sullivan stepped down from her role as an Executive Director, Life Insurance, Annuities, Health Insurance.
Julie McPeak joins the company as General Counsel, having previously been Senior Deputy General Council for Root Inc.

Voya Financial

Stacy Hughes joins Voya as Chief Information Security Officer. She was previously working for Global Payments Inc. in the same role.
Tatyana Kibrik joins as Chief Technology Officer from Wells Fargo where she held the same title.
Jessica Saperstein joins Voya as Chief Customer Experience Officer, from Novartis, where she held the position of Head of Customer Experience & Consumer Marketing.
Vincent Taylor has been promoted to Interim Principal Accounting Officer from his current position of Vice President, Assistant Controller. He succeeds C. Landon Cobb, the Chief Accounting Officer, who will be departing the company at the end of 2022.

Asia Pacific

Dai-ichi Life

Ichiro Okamoto who has been the Managing Executive Officer/Chief Executive Officer and President of the company since 2020 stepped down from the position in June 2022.
Takahiro Shibagaki has left the Managing Executive Officer role which he began in 2019. Takashi Iida took up this position in April 2022.

Pacific Life

Vibhu Sharma joins Pacific Life as CFO. He was most recently occupying the same role at Thrivent.

QBE Insurance Group

Andy Fitzgerald is promoted to Director, UK Regions, having previously been regional manager for the north of the UK.
Steve Postlewhite, Managing Director of QBE Re, has decided to leave the business following a four-year tenure. Peter Wilkins is to assume the role of interim Managing Director and will oversee QBE Re’s new global alignment strategy and development plans.
Amanda Hughes is promoted to Group Chief People Officer and Member of the Group Executive Committee, from her previous position of Group Executive, People and Culture.

Sompo

Kenneth Reilly is appointed as Executive Vice President, General Manager, Global Business Department, Sompo Holdings and Executive Vice President, Head of the new Sompo International Tokyo office, effective July 1, 2022.
Satoshi Kasai has stepped down from his role as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman and joined the board as a Non-Executive Director effective June 2022.
Hiroshi Omata has left his role as Executive Officer/Executive Vice President/ Group Chief Information Officer/ Group Chief Data Marketing Officer.
Kengo Sakurada has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer and Chairman from his previous position of President and Group Chief Executive Officer.
