Based in New York, Jim Bagley has been with Russell Reynolds Associates for more than 25 years. He is currently the global leader of the firm's human resources practice, leading engagements for clients across all industries and geographies, including the world's leading organizations in industrial, consumer, technology, financial services, healthcare and the nonprofit world, with a focus on Chief Human Resources Officers and other senior human capital and talent management leadership roles. Jim previously co-managed the firm's New York office, and led the global Corporate Officers sector.
Prior to rejoining Russell Reynolds Associates in 1998, Jim was the Senior Vice President, Human Resources at MasterCard International, where he had global responsibility for the firm's comprehensive human resources activities. Jim was recruited to MasterCard from Russell Reynolds Associates where he had previously focused on assignments for senior human resources executives across a broad range of industries. He joined the firm in 1984 as the Director of Human Resources. Earlier Jim was a Benefits and Compensation Consultant with Alexander & Alexander Services, Inc., and worked with State Mutual Life Insurance Company.
Additional Professional Activities
Jim is affiliated with many human resources activities and programs, and recently contributed to the book, The Chief HR Officer: Defining the New Role of Human Resource Leaders, which was spearheaded by the National Academy of Human Resources and published as part of a series focused on senior business leadership by John Wiley & Sons, Inc. In addition, Jim has led research focusing on the experiences and behaviors that contribute to success in the CHRO role.
