Georgia Rankin is a core member of the firm’s Private Equity practice in Europe and a member of the Global Private Equity leadership team. She also runs the firm’s Financial Services operations in the UK. Georgia has over 20 years of experience completing searches for funds and their portfolio companies, specializing in hiring investment leaders, sector and country heads, heads of investor relations, senior fundraising professionals, operating partners and advisors, as well as CEOs of portfolio companies and board members. Her activities span pre-deal advisory and post-acquisition executive and non-executive hiring.
Georgia also works closely with the firm’s dedicated Leadership & Succession team on succession planning, post-merger integration, due diligence and talent development initiatives for management teams at portfolio companies. She has built a number of private debt, direct lending and special situations investment teams in Europe and is an expert at helping firms to diversify into new investment strategies, notably sub-investment grade credit. Georgia’s clients include leading international mid-cap and large-cap buyout firms. She is based in London.
Georgia leads several key relationships for the firm and is a trusted adviser to a range of managing partners, investment and distribution leaders, and senior executives across the industry. She has led searches for investment leaders in the UK, Germany and the Nordics, as well as leaders in Consumer, Technology, Healthcare and other industries. She built the private debt investment team for a leading mid-market European buyout firm and recruited the head of credit for a $9 billion multi-strategy hedge fund. Prior to focusing on Private Equity and Alternatives, Georgia was a member of the firm's Global Banking & Markets team, where she led assignments in corporate finance, M&A, leveraged finance, capital markets, structured finance and securitization.
Before joining Russell Reynolds Associates in 1999, Georgia worked for an internet-based marketing firm and a market research company.
Education & Affiliations
Georgia holds a BA in modern history from Oriel College at Oxford University. Georgia is also a passionate advocate of diversity and inclusion in the investment industry. She has worked with the mentoring program Level 20, a not-for-profit organization established to promote gender diversity in private equity, since its inception.
