Anthony Armstrong is a member of the global Consumer sector advising clients within the fast moving consumer goods, retail and media environments on succession planning, leadership assessment and recruitment of outstanding leaders. A member of the Board & CEO Advisory Partners, Anthony is also a member of the firm' s Digital Transformation practice, helping clients build digital leadership capability and expertise in the areas of Mobile, Social, Big Data and Analytics. His clients have ranged from ASX-leading Australian corporations, global multinationals and private equity, through to leading arts companies.
Prior to joining Russell Reynolds Associates, Anthony was Executive Director of the Photon Group, a group of specialist marketing services companies that he managed from inception to its successful IPO in 2004 and beyond. During this period, Anthony was deeply involved in starting a number of these companies, as well as acquiring companies in diverse areas such as advertising, retail merchandising, media services, public relations, direct marketing, market research and digital marketing.
He was previously Managing Director at the J. Walter Thompson Co., responsible for running the Australian and Hong Kong operations. During his tenure, Anthony worked extensively in the fast moving consumer goods, retail banking, telecommunications and retail sectors.
Anthony received his B.Ec. from the University of Sydney and his M.Comm. from the University of New South Wales.
