Marc Baca is a senior member of Russell Reynolds Associates' Global Energy Practice, where he leads the firm's Global Power & Utilities Practice. He also co-founded Russell Reynolds’ Energy Transition Practice, helping clients navigate the evolving energy landscape amid decarbonization, digitization, and shifting capital markets dynamics, and leads the firm's Houston office.
Marc advises boards and executive teams across the full energy value chain—from pre-commercial, venture-backed startups to Fortune 100 corporations—on CEO, board, and senior executive succession. Beyond search, he is a trusted advisor to directors and leadership teams on organizational culture, inclusive leadership, succession planning, and long-term leadership talent strategy. His work spans traditional energy, power generation, utilities, infrastructure, and emerging energy transition platforms.
Prior to joining Russell Reynolds, Marc was a Senior Vice President at Advisian, the independent global advisory arm of WorleyParsons. Previously, Marc worked at ExxonMobil, where he held executive-level positions and completed international assignments across the Middle East and Africa. Marc began his career in the United States Navy as a nuclear submarine officer onboard the USS Boston (SSN-703) fast attack submarine. He deployed out of submarine bases in Connecticut and Hawaii.
He currently serves as a board member of U.S.VETS, one of the nation's largest nonprofit providers of comprehensive services for homeless and at-risk veterans. U.S.VETS operates residential and service sites across the country, delivering housing, workforce development, mental health support, and case management programs designed to help veterans transition successfully to civilian life.
