Based in New York, Kurt is the founder and co-head of the Global Sustainability Practice at Russell Reynolds Associates. Over his 15 years with the firm, Kurt has recruited C-suite leaders and board directors for several of our largest global clients. He is a recognized ESG and sustainability leader, and a sought-after public speaker and guest lecturer. LinkedIn recently named him a “Top Voice in the Green Economy,” while Onalytica listed him in its “Top 50 Global Influencers on ESG.”
Kurt is a highly regarded author on ESG topics, and several of his ground-breaking white papers have been published by the Harvard Law School Forum on Corporate Governance.
Prior to joining Russell Reynolds Associates, Kurt spent 20 years working in capital markets leadership positions for several global banks, including Lehman Brothers, Bank of America, and Nomura. Kurt began his career as an analyst with JP Morgan.
Kurt received his BA in international relations from the University of Virginia. He earned his Certificate in Sustainable Business from the University of Cambridge, and his Certificate in Sustainable Leadership from the MIT Sloan School of Management. He also earned his Climate Designation from Competent Boards.
Kurt remains very active with the University of Virginia, where he serves on the Board of Governors of the Alumni Association. He has also been President of the Benefactors Society Board of the College and Graduate School of Arts & Sciences, and a guest lecturer on ESG & Sustainability. Kurt is also a member of the Advisory Board of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) New York Chapter.
