Jan Plambeck

Based in Frankfurt, Jan is a member of Russell Reynolds Associates’ Consumer Sector, advising global corporations, privately owned companies and private equity across consumer-facing industries on top- and senior-level executive appointments. He brings extensive operational industry experience to work for his clients in the retail and consumer products sectors and is particularly passionate about supporting companies and leaders in transformational and high-change environments.

Before joining Russell Reynolds Associates, Jan was a consultant in the Consumer Practice of another leading executive search firm, where he partnered closely with retail and consumer goods clients on senior leadership and top management roles.

Earlier in his career, Jan served as Chief Operating Officer of a leading European grocery retailer, responsible for driving revenue growth and operational excellence across sales, supply chain management, real estate, expansion, and production, in Germany, CEE, and Australia. Prior to this, Jan served as Chief Strategy Officer, where he designed and implemented a comprehensive transformation program that restored cost leadership and sharpened the company’s customer focus.

Jan began his professional career as a consultant with a global management consultancy, specializing in strategy development and execution for clients in the retail, insurance, automotive, and broader consumer-facing industries, with a strong focus on profitability and efficiency improvement.
