Private Banking Executive Moves

Q3 2025

Basellandschaftliche Kantonalbank (BLKB)

  • The Chairman Thomas Schneider, in office since 2018, and CEO John Häfelfinger, who led the bank for nine years, both stepped down as of end-July 2025.
  • Christoph Schär, Deputy CEO, has been appointed interim CEO as of 1 August 2025.
  • Nadia Tarolli Schmidt, Vice President of the Bankrat, has been named interim President of the Bankrat as of 1 August 2025.
  • Thomas Bauer, former Chairman of FINMA’s Board of Directors, took office as interim Chairman on 1 September 2025, with the mandate limited to one year.

Bergos

  • Peter Schmid has been elected Chairman of the Board of Directors, succeeding Christof Kutscher, who had held the role since 2019. Schmid brings over 30 years of international banking experience, including leadership at Merrill Lynch Bank (Suisse) and Union Bancaire Privée.

Berner Kantonalbank

  • Markus Schwab, currently CEO of the Swiss neo-bank Yuh, has been appointed to the Executive Board as Head of the newly created IT-Management and Value Streams division. He will take up the role by February 2026 at the latest.

Bitcoin Suisse

  • Peter Camenzind has been appointed CEO of Bitcoin Suisse (Switzerland). He previously served as Deputy CEO as well as COO & Chief Clients Officer. He succeeds Co-Founder Andrej Majcen, who will now focus on his role as Group CEO.

Finma

  • Thomas Hirschi, Head of the Banks division and member of the Executive Board, left the authority as of 31 August 2025 to pursue new professional opportunities. He previously also led the Asset Management division and played a key role in the oversight of the Credit Suisse crisis.

Kaleido Privatbank (soon Banque Richelieu)

  • CEO Rolf Bauer stepped down in late September 2025, only days after announcing the bank’s takeover by Groupe Banque Richelieu. The bank will rebrand as Banque Richelieu Switzerland, subject to regulatory approval.

Liechtensteinische Landesbank

  • Christoph Reich, previously Group CFO and interim CEO, has been appointed CEO and Chairman of the Group Executive Board. He succeeds Gabriel Brenna, who left in June 2025 and will become CEO of Raiffeisen Schweiz on 1 December 2025. Reich will retain his CFO responsibilities until a successor is appointed.
  • Adrian Eggenberger has been appointed to the Executive Board of LLB Schweiz as Head of Corporate Clients, effective 1 January 2026. He joins from Schwyzer Kantonalbank, where he led the Corporate Clients division.

Luzerner Kantonalbank

  • Désirée von Michaelis has been appointed to the Executive Board as Head of Corporate Clients & Private Banking. She will join at the beginning of 2026 and take over the role on 1 March 2026 after a transition period. She currently leads Wealth Planning at UBS Switzerland and previously held senior roles at Credit Suisse. She succeeds Beat Hodel, who will retire at that time.

Mirabaud

  • Ricardo Castillo has been appointed Head of Investments and Chairman of the Investment Committee, effective 1 July 2025. He joined from a Geneva-based family office and previously held senior roles at Credit Suisse and UBS.

Nexi Schweiz

  • Bianca End has been appointed Country General Manager as of late September 2025. She joins from Google Cloud, where she was Head of Field Sales Corporate. She succeeds David Gebhardt, who had led Nexi Schweiz on an interim basis since October 2024, following the departure of Marianne Bregenzer.

Oddo BHF

  • Martin Frischknecht has joined as Senior Advisor in Switzerland, strengthening the Investment Banking division. He previously spent over 20 years at Credit Suisse, most recently as Managing Director in Investment Banking and member of the Swiss Investment Banking Management Committee.

Radicant (BLKB subsidiary)

  • CEO Anton Stadelmann will leave the bank by the end of February 2026 at the latest, citing differing views on the digital bank’s future direction. He will continue to exercise his functions until further notice.
  • In July 2025 it was announced that CFO Roland Kläy would depart to join VP Bank as Chief Financial Officer, effective 1 October 2025.

Rahn & Bodmer

  • Fabienne Hockenjos has been appointed Head of Financial Services and member of the Executive Board as of 1 September 2025. She joined from BLKB, where she was Chief Investment Officer and Head of Sustainable Asset Management.

Raiffeisen

  • Thomas A. Müller, Chairman of the Board of Directors, will not stand for re-election at the General Assembly on 19 June 2026. He will step down after completing his current two-year term, having served on the board for eight years and as Chairman for the past four and a half years.

Schaffhauser Kantonalbank (SHKB)

  • Daniel Anders has been appointed Head of Operations & IT and member of the Executive Board, effective 1 February 2026. He succeeds Ruedi Lenz, who will retire at the end of January 2026 after more than eleven years in the role. Anders previously held senior positions at Zürcher Kantonalbank and Viseca Card Services.

UBS

  • Marco Valla, previously Co-President of the Investment Bank, has been appointed Head of Global Banking, succeeding Javier Oficialdegui, who becomes Chairman of Global Banking.
  • In EMEA, Philippe Chryssicopoulos and Christian Lesueur have been promoted to Co-Heads of Global Banking for the region.
  • In the Americas, Jon Levin (ex-Credit Suisse) has been named Co-Head of the Deal-Making team alongside Richard Casavechia.
  • In APAC, Anthony Sweetman (relocating from Australia) and Taichi Takahashi have been appointed Co-Heads of the Investment Bank. Takahashi additionally becomes Global Head of Digital Assets for the Investment Bank.

Vontobel

  • Annette Nanzer has been appointed Head of Human Resources as of 1 September 2025, joining from Zuger Kantonalbank where she held the same role. She succeeds Caroline Knoeri, who left the bank earlier this year joined Vontobel on May 1, 2025, as COO for institutional clients, bringing his experience as former Global Head of the CIO Office at UBP to strengthen Vontobel’s asset management team.

VP Bank

  • Roland Kläy has been appointed Chief Financial Officer and member of the Group Executive Management as of 1 October 2025. He joins from Radicant, where he was Co-Founder, Chief Financial & Risk Officer, and at times Co-CEO. He succeeds Philippe Wüst, who had held the role on an interim basis since January 2025.

Zuger Kantonalbank

  • Tanja Aebi has been appointed as the new Head of HR at Zuger Kantonalbank. She succeeds Annette Nanzer and brings a broad HR background across different industries. Most recently, she served as Chief People and Culture Officer at ISS Switzerland.

Zürcher Kantonalbank

  • Christian Raubach left UBS as Global Head UBS Circle One to join ZKB as Chief of Staff & Head Corporate Development in August 2025.
