Bennett Hanig is a senior member of the firm's Global Leadership & Succession practice. Working with Boards and CEOs, Bennett provides advisory services focused on CEO & executive management team succession planning, CEO transition, talent benchmarking, and development of senior executive talent. He also provides Board evaluation services and works with private equity firms on the assessment of portfolio company leadership teams. Bennett works within a broad range of business sectors including financial services, global industrial, consumer products, life sciences, and technology. Bennett is based in New York.
Bennett has 20 years of experience advising organizations on mission critical leadership capital issues. Prior to joining Russell Reynolds Associates, he was the Chief Talent Officer of International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF), where his global responsibilities included succession planning, leadership development, talent acquisition, and performance management. Prior to IFF, Bennett was a Senior Partner and Region Head in the talent management practice of a global executive search firm. In that role, his advisory work centered around succession planning, talent evaluation, and leadership development. Earlier in his career, Bennett was a Senior Consultant at a large leadership consulting firm, where he provided succession planning and leadership development services and managed complex client engagements.

Bennett has written and lectured on a variety of leadership topics and his insights have appeared in publications such as Fortune Magazine and SHRM's Staffing Management. He is a licensed psychologist in the State of New York and is a member of the American Psychological Association, Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and Columbia University Alumni Association.
Bennett received his B.A., with honors, from the State University of New York at New Paltz and his M.Phil., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in psychology from Columbia University.
