Cynthia Dow provides clients with world-class executive advisory services across a broad range of industries and geographies. Based in Boston, Cynthia leads that office and the New England region for Russell Reynolds Associates. She also heads the global Legal, Regulatory & Compliance Officers Practice. She focuses on general counsel, chief legal officer and other Board and corporate governance roles. Working with Fortune 500 companies to global mid-cap and small-cap private companies, Cynthia’s expertise extends to multiple industries, including legal, consumer, industrial, technology and more. Cynthia was a successful lawyer before joining Russell Reynolds Associates, serving as a corporate generalist, labor and employment attorney and litigator.

She practiced law for more than 14 years: as vice president and assistant general counsel with Cadbury Schweppes, the general counsel to a technology company, and as an attorney with Baker Botts LLP in Dallas. Earlier in her career, she served as a senior law clerk to Chief Judge Jerry Buchmeyer of the Northern District of Texas.

Cynthia received her BA, with distinction, in government from Cornell University and her JD from the Columbia School of Law, where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and an editor of the Journal of Law and Social Problems.

Cynthia serves on the Board of Directors for the Boston Chamber of Commerce and the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, is a retired member of the New York and Texas State Bars, and previously led the Board of Directors at the Dallas Contemporary art museum.
