Based between London and New York, he holds concurrent positions as Professor of Business Psychology at University College London and Columbia University. Tomas advises organizations worldwide on leadership assessment, development, and the creation of science-based tools to predict performance. During his two-decade career bridging academia and industry, he has consulted leading organizations across financial services, technology, consumer goods, and government sectors. He also brings entrepreneurial expertise as co-founder of DeeperSignals and MyTrudy.com, and serves as Chief Psychometric Advisor to Harvard's Entrepreneurial Finance Lab.
Tomas previously served as CEO at Hogan Assessment Systems and Chief Innovation Officer at ManpowerGroup. He has held academic positions at New York University and the London School of Economics, and lectured at Harvard Business School, Stanford Business School, and INSEAD. Earlier in his career, he founded University College London's Industrial-Organizational and Business Psychology program.
Tomas is the author of 15 books, including Why Do So Many Incompetent Men Become Leaders?, which inspired his widely-viewed TED talk, and his latest, Don't Be Yourself: Why Authenticity is Overrated. He has published over 250 scientific papers and is a Fellow of the Society for Industrial-Organizational Psychology. Born in Buenos Aires' Villa Freud district, Tomas has spent his professional career between London and New York.
