Art Hopkins is the founder and leader of the firm's NextGen Tech Officers Practice after previously leading its Global Technology Officers Practice. He is also a senior member of the Board & CEO Advisory Partners practice, advising clients across industries on leadership, succession, and board advisory initiatives.
Art has extensive experience helping clients recruit senior technology executives, including chief technology and information officers (CTIOs), chief technology officers (CTOs), and digital and data leaders, with particular expertise in the evolving role of the technology executive. He coauthored The Path to the Boardroom for Technology Executives, which was republished by the Harvard Law School Forum on Corporate Governance.
In addition to numerous recent board and technology executive searches for clients across industries, including financial services, private equity, retail, consumer, and energy, Art has extensive experience helping clients recruit executive teams into prominent professional services firms.
Prior to joining Russell Reynolds Associates, Art was CEO at Macquarium, an Atlanta-based experience design and strategy firm. There, he was responsible for leading the growth and transformation of the firm from a regional interactive agency to an industry-leading design firm. Prior to this, he spent 10 years with Blackwell Consulting Services as vice president of consulting, where his responsibilities included management of the entire consulting organization and leadership of key client initiatives. Earlier, he was with William James & Associates as a consultant, building and integrating custom software solutions for financial institutions. Art began his career as Supervisor of Participant Accounting at NBD Trust Co. of Illinois (now Chase Bank).
