Dheeraj Vashista leads the firm's Leadership & Succession Practice in India, based in New Delhi. He partners with clients on C-suite succession, leadership transformation, inclusive leadership cultures and other bespoke advisory engagements. Dheeraj specializes in aligning the leadership talent agenda of organizations with their purpose and strategic intent. His clients range from large global and domestic firms to entrepreneurial private equity portfolio companies. Recent experience includes working with leadership teams across several sectors, with a particular focus on the mining and metals, private equity, energy, consumer and technology industries.
Dheeraj joined Russell Reynolds Associates after more than 20 years in consulting, transformation and business leadership roles. Prior to joining, he founded and ran a strategic HR consulting practice with multiple marquee MNC and Indian clients. Previously, Dheeraj led human resources for an affiliate of Merck and Co. and was a Principal Consultant with Mercer, where he specialized in organizational design, employee engagement, total rewards and sales effectiveness. Earlier in his career, Dheeraj worked for Procter & Gamble and Tata Motors in multiple transformation and business roles.

Dheeraj holds a BE in electronics and communications from the Delhi College of Engineering and a post-graduate diploma in marketing and HR from the Indian Institute of Management at Lucknow.
