Gavi is seeking to appoint a new Director of Communications, who will be a prominent member of the Gavi Leadership Team and play a strategic role in the organisation. The Director of Communications will lead an international team of communication professionals to continue to raise the profile of Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance and immunisation, by positioning them within an increasingly broader global health context. Including the ongoing development of Gavi's brand and narrative, strengthening of its digital engagement and the preservation of its reputation.
The Director of Communications will also be an excellent communicator with seasoned political judgement, scaling up public support and increase alliance partner while having in-depth knowledge of digital communications and campaigns. Ensuring a fully integrated and aligned 'campaign' approach that is targeted and effective with the many audiences Gavi seeks to reach.
Candidates for the role will be accomplished leaders of a communication function and accustomed to operating at the most senior levels in complex international organisations. They will bring an appreciation of Gavi's public-private partnership model. From whatever sectoral background they come, whether commercial, government, or third sector, they will display the resilience and leadership to thrive in a multi-stakeholder environment. While scale and global reach will be important qualifications, Gavi will place a particular premium on solutions-oriented leaders, who provide clear and practicable advice to colleagues.
