P&C insurers are rushing to appoint chief diversity officers, elevating minority executives, or adding diverse directors to their corporate boards amid pressure to address racial divisions and inequities within their organizations.… 

“There has been a surge in inquiries in recent weeks from P&C companies looking to hire diverse candidates specifically for executive positions. Not just at the entry-level but across all ranks,” Bradlee Benn, leader of the diversity and inclusion advisory practice at Russell Reynolds Associates, told P&C Specialist in an interview. “Companies are realizing fostering diverse and inclusive workplaces can boost companies in big ways, including improving financial performance and sparking innovation as well as building a strong connection with customers.”… 

“The greatest opportunity for broad influence comes when a diversity chief reports directly to the CEO,” Benn said.
