Ibex 35 companies must incorporate 30 women into their administrative councils in one year to comply with CNMV’s goal to Reach a female presence of 30% in 2020 as recommended by the National Stock Market Commission (CNMV, per its Spanish abbreviation). 

According to Ibex 35 companies’ corporate governance study created by the firm Russell Reynolds Associates, the growth rate of the quota of female advisors is not enough, despite the fact female presence has grown.

Russell Reynolds has also pointed out that the digital experience is "the great challenge" of Ibex’s advisors since only 30 out of 456 had directed the definition and launching of a digital business, had developed a digital transformation process for products and businesses, have served as technology or information managers or were experienced in cybersecurity or information. Similarly, they found that BBVA and Banco Santander are the only Ibex 35 companies that had, as of the date of the report, a technological, innovation and cybersecurity commission.
