Avon Products Inc. is revamping its technology organization as the cosmetics firm attempts to attract more sales representatives and restore growth.

Firms may recruit an external advisory group to help keep up with trends, or create groups of internal employees who touch digital parts of the business, said Nada Usina, member of the board and CEO advisory group and co-leader of technology recruiting for Russell Reynolds Associates. 

“The question is, if you’re using an external group, when do they meet and what are they bringing to the party that’s different,” she said. Such groups could help validate existing projects, educate executives who may be behind in digital initiatives or create partnership opportunities.
