Scott Smith is a senior member of the firm's global Leadership & Succession team. Scott brings more than 20 years of leadership consulting and human resources expertise, having worked as a trusted advisor to senior executive performance, transformational leadership and succession management. He has led globally diverse teams to deliver strategic initiatives ranging from large-scale enterprise transformation programs to personally coaching numerous C-suite leaders and their potential successors. Scott's industry experience spans oil and gas, agriculture, manufacturing, telecommunications, technology, media and entertainment, retail, and consumer packaged goods. He is based in Dallas.
Scott came to Russell Reynolds Associates after nearly a decade with PepsiCo. Ending his tenure there as a senior director of talent management and organizational development, he led leadership development programs, succession planning efforts, talent retention and analytics initiatives, and more. Prior to this, Scott spent 15 years with Accenture in the firm's management consulting and talent management practice. During his time there, he worked directly with clients' senior leadership teams to design and drive transformation, develop leadership and strategy, and streamline business functions, among other activities.
EDUCATION & AFFILIATIONS
Scott received his BBA, Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude, in organizational behavior and business policy from Southern Methodist University. He also holds several certifications in human resources and coaching from internationally recognized organizations such as the RBL Group, Hogan Assessment Systems and Cambria Consulting. Scott is also actively pursuing a Juris Doctor Degree to further his mission of providing pro bono counsel and advice to families and children with special needs.
