Lauren Braswell Smykle


Lauren Braswell Smykle is a member of the firm’s global Board & CEO Advisory Partners. She works with clients across sectors and geographies to help identify, recruit and develop top executive and non-executive talent. Lauren specializes in advising private equity and financial services clients, leveraging a deep industry background to provide market-leading insights, tailored board assessments and effective governance strategies. She is based in New York.

Previous Experience


Lauren joined Russell Reynolds Associates from KKR & Co., where she was a Principal on the Public Affairs team. She was responsible for the firm’s internal communications and the KKR Alumni Network. Previously, Lauren was with Goldman Sachs & Co. for more than 10 years, ending her tenure as a Vice President in the Asset Management division, where she was the Chief Operating Officer of Strategic Advisory Solutions, a client solutions team within their third-party distribution business.

Education & Affiliations


Lauren holds a BA, with high honors, in political science and women’s and gender studies from Douglass College at Rutgers University, as well as an MBA from Columbia Business School and an MBA from London Business School. Lauren played Division I golf at Rutgers and was the captain of her team. Active in her community, Lauren is currently a Big Ten Conference Advisory Commission Representative for Rutgers University and a member of The Junior League. She previously served on the board of Part of the Solution and the junior boards of College for Every Student, Covenant House International and Madison Square Boys & Girls Club.
