Pieter Ligthart focuses on assignments in the Consumer and Healthcare sectors. He also leads assignments in human resources and supply chain across industries. Based in Amsterdam, he serves both national and international clients.

Recent Client Experience

Pieter's recent experience within the consumer sector includes working with a large U.S.-based retailer on their search for a Managing Director for a country organization, and assignments in real estate, logistics, treasury and communications for both local and major global retailers. In the healthcare sector he has conducted searches, amongst other functional areas, in supply chain, for roles such as Heads of Global Supply Chain Operations, Global Strategic Planning, Manufacturing, and Sourcing.  Within the area of human resources Pieter works on advising his clients with regard to senior generalist HR leadership positions, and on more specialized roles in areas such as talent management, compensation & benefits, and employee relations. One example is the recent placement of the Employee Relations Director EMEA for one of the world's largest technology companies. In supply chain, Pieter recently advised a leading FMCG company on the internal and external succession planning options within Global Operations.

Previous Experience

Prior to joining Russell Reynolds Associates, Pieter worked in various leadership roles at Royal Ahold. Most recently as a Human Resources Director, he was responsible for the international Human Resources delivery to Ahold's headquarter employees in the areas of Finance, Legal and Communications in locations across Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and the United States. Before that, he worked as a Program Director, driving a major cost savings program through initiatives in Information Technology, Purchasing, and Supply Chain. Previously, he worked as a Strategy Consultant with McKinsey & Company.

Education

Pieter received his M.Sc. in applied physics from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands and his M.B.A. from INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France.
