Larry Klock focuses on CEO, COO, CFO and board of director assignments within the energy industry.  He was previously Area Manager of the Chicago office and Natural Resources Sector Leader.

Recent Client Experience

Larry recently completed a search for the President of a medium-size electric and gas utility along with several board of director searches for regional transmission organizations (RTOs).  He has conducted and completed CEO searches for all but one of the eight RTOs in the United States. Larry has completed CEO searches for investor-owned utilities ranging in size from $300 million to $30 billion.  Over his 17-year career at Russell Reynolds Associates, he has conducted over 350 utility/utility-related searches, to include more than 100 board of director engagements, completing over 90% of his assignments.

Previous Experience

Prior to joining Russell Reynolds Associates in 1992, Larry was Chairman and CEO of Planmetrics, Inc., a 100-person Chicago-based management consulting and information services firm, serving over 200 electric and gas utilities throughout North America. He conducted more than 35 utility, strategic planning senior-management engagements focused on formulating and implementing new policies and tactics as the electric/gas utility industry encountered the challenges associated with a competitive, deregulated marketplace. Previously, he was a managing consultant with Data Resources, Inc., an economic forecasting and consulting firm in Massachusetts. He also served in the U.S. Army's Medical Service Corps and as an assistant professor at Baylor University in Texas.

Larry is a member of the Board of Trustees of his alma mater, Bucknell University, in Lewisburg, PA.

Education

Larry received his B.A. in economics from Bucknell University and his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
