Carol Emmott

Carol Emmott leads the firm’s Health Services Practice and specializes in executive officer and board of directors assignments for academic, nonprofit and for-profit hospitals and health systems, multi-specialty medical groups and other vendors and providers of advisory services to the health services industry. Carol also recruits senior academic leaders in leading health science centers. In addition, she brings senior leaders to equity-based startups, sub-acute care companies and other specialty provider organizations. Based in San Francisco, she has also recruited senior leaders across a wide array of for-profit and nonprofit managed care companies.

Previous Experience

Carol has extensive executive recruiting experience. Her early career was focused on senior-level policy positions at the University of California at San Francisco’s Institute of Health Policy Studies. As a political appointee, she managed health legislation during the Carter Administration. She was also Chief Deputy Director of the California Department of Health Services. In addition, she led a major hospital association.

Education

Carol received her B.A. in political science and history from Southern Methodist University and her Ph.D. in health policy from the University of Oklahoma.
