Anne Martin Simonds
Anne Martin Simonds directs high-profile executive searches for global organizations ranging from large and specialty pharmaceuticals to biotechnology companies, to global nonprofits, foundations, government and academic institutions. She also oversees executive assessments and advises boards, CEOs and other senior leadership during corporate restructuring, CEO succession planning, and board development. In 2005, Anne incepted and has subsequently led the firm’s development of a Global Health practice, the purpose of which was to strategically align the firm’s private, nonprofit and public sector networks.
Recent Client Experience
Anne has led several CEO searches resulting in multi-project individual and organizational assessments through the executive team and board. Some of her portfolio includes recruiting CEOs and COOs of major global foundations and public-private partnerships as well as public biotech companies. She has also conducted broader C-suite searches in the international development arena and in private sector life sciences. The other significant portion of her time is spent advising clients on talent solutions in the evolution beyond an original business model as has been the case in the rapidly changing global health arena (i.e., second generation PPPs and PDPs).
Previous Experience
Anne joined Russell Reynolds Associates in the firm's New York office in 1997. Her relevant prior experience in healthcare was in several research environments: Department of Neuropathology and Neurobiology at Johns Hopkins University Hospital; Department of Neurosurgery/Cerebrovascular Disease at the University of Virginia Medical Center; the University of Connecticut; and the Lombardi Cancer Research Center at Georgetown University.
Additional Professional Activities
Anne serves on the firm’s professional development committee which reviews the infrastructure of the firm and manages promotions through the partnership. She formerly ran the Washington, D.C. office for the firm. Anne is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the Women Business Leaders of the U.S. Healthcare Industry Foundation, the Global Citizens Council of the United Nations Foundation, and the Global Health Council. She also serves on the Board of Trustees of Rare Conservation.
Education
Anne received her B.A. in biology from the University of Virginia and attended the postgraduate business program at the McIntire Business Institute, University of Virginia.
