Thord Thorstensson

Thord Thorstensson is the firm's Country Manager for Sweden. He focuses on the consumer and healthcare sectors where he specializes in C-level, non-executive and general management assignments. Based in Stockholm, he conducts assignments for consumer clients in the areas of consumer products and services, entertainment, leisure and hospitality, media, and retail. In the healthcare sector, he serves clients ranging from early-stage, venture capital-backed medical devices and life science companies to global pharmaceutical, medical devices and diagnostic manufacturers and marketers.

Recent Client Experience

Thord's recent assignments include building a new management structure for a leading private equity owned med-tech company, filling positions such as CFO, CPO, CIO and SVP Global Supply. Thord has also carried out a leadership assessment assignment for the top management in connection with the merger of two Nordic companies within the consumer goods sector. Moreover, Thord was recently appointed Project Leader in connection with the restructuring of one of the leading retailers, including a number of searches for top executives to become part of  the new company structure.

Previous Experience

Thord has more than 20 years of executive search experience, focusing on the healthcare and consumer products industries. He is also a qualified psychometric assessor. Prior to his executive search career, Thord spent 12 years in the military, with almost six years in training and leadership development. As a Department Manager at the Royal Military Academy, he focused on leadership and strategy.

Education

Thord is a graduate of the Swedish National Defence College. He is fluent in Swedish and English.
