Thomas Becker

Thomas conducts senior executive and board of director searches for major organizations in the technology sector, focusing on software, professional services/outsourcing, hardware, telecommunications and CIO/CTO placements. Thomas has completed numerous high-profile searches for CEOs, board members and other top management positions, not only for world-leading corporations but also for private equity/venture capital portfolio companies.

Recent Client Experience

Thomas' recent assignments in the technology sector include close cooperation with the management of a global technology company to recruit a country manager for their German operations and the recruitment of a CTO and a CIO for one of the world's largest telecommunications firms.  He also recruited the CEO, a VP R&D, a VP Sales, and VP Marketing for a German technology company. Thomas has been managing the company's global client relationship with one of the most important software companies for several years.

Previous Experience

Prior to joining Russell Reynolds Associates in 1996, Thomas had a 12-year career with IBM. He held various sales and marketing management positions with the world's largest computer company, including those of branch manager, finance, in Frankfurt and director of IBM Deutschland. He had positions that entailed national and international responsibility for major financial services clients.

Additional Professional Activities

Thomas is a member of the Association of Executive Search Consultants' (AESC) board of directors in Germany.

Education

Thomas studied economics and computer science in Darmstadt and Mainz and graduated as Diplom-Wirtschaftsinformatiker. He is fluent in German and English.
