Steve Scroggins is a member of the firm's Financial Officer's Practice, which concentrates on recruiting CFOs, controllers, treasurers, heads of corporate development and other senior financial officers. Along with his colleagues in this practice, Steve handles assignments for clients ranging from Fortune 500 to start-up companies. 

Recent Client Experience

Recent representative CFO searches include the JV of the three largest U.S. wireless companies to create a mobile payments system company; a roughly $450 billion asset management/insurance entity; a PE-backed leading satellite provider; the leading global IP solutions provider traded on NASDAQ; and two PE backed banks created through the acquisition of assets from the FDIC. Steve has also worked closely with colleagues in Europe and Asia Pacific on senior cross-border financial officer searches for clients including CFO of one of the world's largest telecommunications equipment suppliers; head of tax for one of the largest non U.S. banks; and the head of international audit for a U.S. investment company with approximately $1 trillion in AUM. Other notable projects include the Chair of FASB for the Trustees of the Financial Accounting Foundation; the Controller of The Metropolitan Museum of Art; and the SVP of FP&A and Public Policy for Fannie Mae. 

Previous Experience

Steve previously served as the CFO of Russell Reynolds Associates for six years. At various times, he also served as the firm's Regional Coordinator for Asia Pacific and for North America and as a member of the firm's Executive and Operating Committees. Prior to joining Russell Reynolds Associates in 1980, Steve spent six years with The Northern Trust Bank in Chicago as a commercial lending officer, serving multi-national and middle-market corporations in Wisconsin and Minnesota.

Steve received his B.A. from Amherst College, magna cum laude, and his M.M. from Northwestern University, Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
