Simon Kingston focuses on assignments for not-for-profit organisations and has a particular interest in higher education, development and public policy. He has served clients in a range of countries, conducting searches, inter alia, for university vice-chancellors, chief executives and senior leaders of major global development organisations and directors of government departments. Simon leads the firm's Global Development Practice.
Previous Experience
Simon has ten years of international executive search experience. He joined Russell Reynolds Associates in 2007. He has served clients in the higher education, global development and private sectors.
Additional Professional Activities
Simon was a member of the world's first rowing expedition along 1,000km of the Upper Zambezi, from the Angolan border with Zambia to the Victoria Falls. The team raised £15,000 for the provision of clean water to remote villages in Zambia which will directly benefit more than 1000 people across 10 villages. The team will also be donating all their rowing equipment to support township-based rowing facilities for children. For more information see www.rowzambezi.com.
Simon is a member of the Executive Committee of the British Irish Association. He has published on Irish and British politics and history and continues to write occasionally on related subjects.
Education
Simon received his B.A. in history from Trinity College Dublin. He received his D.Phil. in history from the University of Oxford. He was subsequently a post-doctoral scholar at the University and a tutor and retained lecturer at a number of its colleges.
