Laurie L. Nash

Laurie Nash advises nonprofit organizations in the recruitment of senior leadership, with a particular focus on the cultural and environmental arenas, as well as foundations of all kinds. Laurie's extensive experience partnering with institutional search committees, along with her global network, enables her to counsel her clients in identifying and engaging the top talent for a rapidly changing industry. Based in San Francisco, Laurie is a member of the Nonprofit sector and leads the firm's Cultural Institutions and Foundations practice and is the Area Manager of the San Francisco office.

Recent Client Experience

Laurie has recruited Executive Directors for leading encyclopedic, contemporary art, and natural history museums across North America. She has also worked with the leading philanthropic funders of the arts and humanities, recruiting Presidents and CEOs of major US foundations. In the environmental domain, she has recently partnered with organizations dedicated to the preservation of regional lands and culture.

Previous Experience

Laurie has 10 years of executive search experience, and joined Russell Reynolds Associates in 2008. She began her career at independent secondary schools, including the Groton School and Albuquerque Academy. After attending business school, she worked for technology-related companies, including AOL, Diamond Cluster International, and DoubleClick, where she was involved in client services, business development, and management consulting.

Additional Professional Activities

Laurie serves on the Advisory Council of the National Outdoor Leadership School. She additionally serves on the Board of the Alliance for Young Artists and Writers, an organization that identifies and supports teenagers with exceptional artistic and literary talent.


Laurie received her B.A. in history from Yale University and her M.B.A. from Northwestern University, Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
