John Rice works with leading organizations across the Consumer sector. He is based in Atlanta.
Prior to joining Russell Reynolds Associates, John spent eight years with Best Buy, where he was most recently the Vice President, Merchandising - Entertainment. Here, he was responsible for leading all merchandising aspects of the firm's $6B entertainment business, which included gaming, movies, music, musical instruments and eReaders. He also worked closely with the department's business operations, strategy development, financial management, marketing integration and talent development. Earlier at Best Buy, he was the Vice President, Supply Chain - Demand Planning, Space Strategy/Execution, where he co-led the firm's demand planning/inventory management function. Previously in his career, John was the CEO of Garden Ridge Corporation, a $550M home décor retailer with 44 locations in 13 states and more than 5,000 employees. Prior to Garden Ridge, John was a Partner in Accenture's Retail practice, focused on process re-engineering and strategy initiatives. John also worked in a variety of operational roles at Mobil Oil Corporation during his seven years with the firm.
John received his B.B.A. in finance from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire and his M.B.A., honors, in general management from Nova Southeastern University.
