Recent Client Experience

Jan's recent assignments included the recruitment of a CEO for an international Telco Player, a Head of Sales Operations for a global consumer devices company, a CFO and Global IT director for an international mining services firm, a VP Sales for a global SW & IT player and a VP Network Operations for a regional cable operator. Jan is an integral part of the company's global client relationship with a leading mobile device and equipment company.

Previous Experience

Jan joined Russell Reynolds Associates from Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN), Dubai (UAE). There, he was Head of the Middle East and Africa Region, responsible for pre-sales, sales, project implementation and services for all mobile and fixed communication infrastructure in 68 countries. Jan was member of the Supervisory Board of NSN in Germany and Chairman of the NSN Joint Ventures in South Africa and Kuwait. Prior to this, Jan held various leadership roles within different business units of Siemens Communications, based in either the Middle East or Europe, with Siemens Corporation in New York as well as with the Siemens Corporate HQ in Munich. Jan began his career at Sentrachem, a chemical company, based in Johannesburg where he served as a management consultant.

Education

Jan received his Doctorate (Dr. rer.pol.) on the role of German multinational corporations in the Republic of South Africa's development process from the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany and the University of Cape Town and Stellenbosch, South Africa, and his M.B.A. (Diplom Kaufmann) from the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany. He is fluent in German and English.
