James Hickman

James Hickman handles a wide variety of senior private equity assignments and has an extensive and successful track record of recruiting in the sector, as well as in investment banking where he was previously active. Based in London, he leads the firm's Private Equity Practice in Europe.

Recent Client Experience

James' recent assignments within the world of private equity span a variety of roles in all types of funds, from start-ups  and new entrants to established large buyout firms. Typical assignments are complex and require an extensive advisory input. He has also conducted in-depth executive assessments of entire private equity firms as well as of finalist candidates for searches.  

Previous Experience

Before joining Russell Reynolds Associates in 1992, James spent four years working in corporate finance with Schroders in London. Earlier, he worked with Booz Allen Hamilton as a strategic management consultant, focusing on the financial services industry.

Education

James received his M.A. from Trinity College, University of Cambridge. He is fluent in French and German.
