Stuart Burns is a member of the firm’s Consumer Sector. He advises clients within the retail and fast-moving consumer goods environments. Stuart has nearly 20 years of corporate consulting and entrepreneurial experience. He is based in the Sydney office.
Prior to joining the firm, Stuart was Head of Merchandise Operations at Big W (a division of Woolworths Limited). He was responsible for leading vendor and product strategy and business planning, complex negotiations and managed multiple operation teams including trade relations and business support. Before that role, Stuart spent nine years at LineBreak Performance Sportswear where he served as founder and CEO before the company was sold in a trade sale. LineBreak was one of the global originators of the Compression Sportswear industry and established operations in Australia, the U.K., New Zealand, India, South Africa and Singapore. Stuart built extensive experience trading through big box and specialty retail, but also developed strong digital and e-commerce skills after the business moved digitally. Earlier, Stuart was Corporate Strategy Manager at Diageo in Australia. He began his career as a Consultant at Bain & Company, where he worked for six years.
Stuart has both a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting and a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of New South Wales.
