Pieter Ligthart


Pieter Ligthart focuses on senior level and board (executive and non-executive) assignments at the interface of the Consumer and Technology Sectors. He co-leads the firm's Global Supply Chain Practice working across industries. Given his own HR background, Pieter has also led numerous senior level HR assignments. Based in Amsterdam, he serves both national and international clients.

Previous Experience


Prior to joining Russell Reynolds Associates, Pieter worked in various leadership roles at Royal Ahold. As a Human Resources Director, Pieter was responsible for the international Human Resources delivery to Ahold's headquarter employees in the areas of finance, legal and communications in locations across Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and the United States. Before that, he worked as a Program Director, driving a major cost savings program through initiatives in information technology, purchasing, and supply chain. Previously, he worked as a Strategy Consultant with McKinsey & Company.

Additional Professional Activities


Pieter serves on the Netherlands Committee of Human Rights Watch, one of the world's leading independent organizations dedicated to defending and protecting human rights. He is also a facilitator for the Foundation for Natural Leadership (www.naturalleadership.eu) taking groups of leaders on Wilderness Leadership Programmes in Africa.

Education


Pieter received his M.Sc. in Applied Physics from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands and his M.B.A. from INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France.
