Dr. Monisha Banerjee is based in London and focuses on senior level assignments for a variety of clients in the healthcare sector, including pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, diagnostic and healthcare services organisations. She is also a key member of the global Digital Transformation Practice.
Recent Client Experience
Monisha has conducted a number of international assignments including Chief Executive, non-executive, general management, R&D, Medical Affairs, and Regulatory Affairs appointments, amongst other functional leadership roles. Recent assignments within the healthcare sector include helping the board of a publicly-quoted life-sciences company to appoint a new CEO for their global Genomics business and another to help a fast-growing US-based biotech company to find a leader for their European organization. Additionally, she has been involved in opportunities within the Digital arena, having completed an assignment to find a CEO for the healthcare arm of an innovative business with novel wireless technology for remote patient monitoring. Outside of healthcare, Monisha has also recently conducted senior assignments in R&D, Quality, and Scientific/External Affairs for a leading global consumer company.
Prior to joining Russell Reynolds Associates, Monisha worked for Medicus International, a pharmaceutical communications company (part of Publicis Healthcare Communications Group) that provides marketing solutions to global pharmaceutical clients. At Medicus, she worked across several client-service teams focusing on a number of key accounts including Sanofi-Aventis (Acomplia®) and Bristol-Myers Squibb (Orencia®) on strategic brand planning, publications, and key opinion leader development.
Monisha received her B.Sc. in applied biology from Imperial College London, during which she spent a year working as a research scientist at the Neuroscience Research Centre at Eli Lilly & Co. She subsequently completed a GlaxoSmithKline/BBSRC-funded Ph.D. in molecular neurobiology from the MRC Centre for Developmental Neurobiology at King's College London. She is also an Associate of the Royal College of Science.
