Marcus Brauer


Marcus Brauer is a member of the firm's Industrial/Natural Resources and Consumer Sectors. Based in New York, he specializes in senior executive assignments, including CEOs, COOs, CHROs, CFOs and Presidents, for U.S. and internationally-based industrial, consumer, and private equity/venture capital portfolio companies. Additionally, Marcus has functional expertise in general management, sales/marketing, corporate/business development, finance and operations/global supply chain.

Previous Experience


Prior to joining Russell Reynolds Associates, Marcus was Chief Marketing Officer for Vanishing Point, a venture capital-funded cosmetic treatment firm. Before that, he was with the Coca-Cola Company as Director of Marketing, Sydney 2000 Olympic Group, based in Sydney. He began his career in brand management at Bristol-Myers Squibb in its Consumer Products Division, and after going on to L'Oréal and Revlon International, he returned to Bristol-Myers Squibb as Category Director, Asia/Pacific Region. He has lived and worked in Australia, Germany, Hong Kong, Indonesia and the United States and has traveled extensively throughout the world.

Additional Professional Activities


Marcus is on the board of ISSUE Project Room, a leading presenter of experimental music and performance based in Brooklyn. He is also active with Brooklyn Aikikai, a nonprofit educational institution that teaches and promotes the traditional Japanese disciplines of Aikido and Iaido.

Education


Marcus received his B.A. in German Literature from Wesleyan University. He is fluent in English and German, and conversant in French and Spanish.
