Jo is a member of the Consumer sector based in London. She focuses broadly across consumer with a specialization in consumer products/FMCG, retail, fashion and luxury goods but also covering the leisure, hospitality and media segments. Jo brings her clients extensive knowledge of marketing, communications, sales and strategy functions across the consumer environment. Additionally, as a result of her previous line management roles, both within industry and also consulting, Jo brings a unique and strategic perspective in advising clients how to best recruit and retain top talent.
Prior to joining Russell Reynolds Associates, Jo spent six years at L’Oreal U.K. where she was Marketing Director for the Designer Fragrances business within the Luxury Division. She managed a portfolio of fragrance brands including Armani, Diesel, Ralph Lauren, Stella McCartney and others. Prior to this, Jo was with Avon in New York as Marketing Manager in their Global Marketing Group, where she led cross-functional brand teams including R&D, product development, package design, sourcing and regional marketing to develop and launch products. Before this, Jo was with McKinsey & Company for five years both in New York and London as an Engagement Manager specializing in consumer, retail and media engagements. She began her career as a Financial Analyst in the U.K. Corporate Finance and M&A team at Morgan Stanley, London where she completed the two year Analyst Program.
Jo received her M.A. degree in economics from Downing College, Cambridge University. Additionally she received her M.A in professional studies, cosmetics and fragrance marketing and management from the Fashion Institute of Technology, State University of New York.
