Greg Cowling

Greg Cowling leads the firm's Energy/Natural Resources practice in Europe and is based in the London office. Greg specialises in board-level assignments for leading global organisations for clients in the oil and gas, metals and mining, power utilities and with industrial companies more widely.

Recent Relevant Experience

Greg's recent assignments include: CEO of a UK-listed mining company; new executive leadership team for an international oil and gas company; and, leading a global relationship with a FTSE100 industrial technology firm.

Previous Experience

Greg brings over 20 years experience advising clients on their major strategic issues in the industrial sector. Prior to joining Russell Reynolds Associates, Greg was a Partner with another global executive search firm. At Ernst & Young, Greg was Director of Energy and Natural Resources leading client service delivery for global clients. He was also a member of the Prime Minister's Strategy Unit in the Cabinet Office, advising on all aspects of UK government policy towards London. Greg spent 6 years with KPMG as Director in consulting, working with industrial clients on a worldwide basis. Prior to this he was in engineering and manufacturing management with Metalbox. Greg started his career in the UK nuclear power industry with the CEGB.

Education

Greg received his B.Sc. with honours from Brunel University in the Special Engineering Programme. He is a Chartered Engineer and speaks both French and Russian.
