George Huang
Based in Beijing, George Huang focuses on senior level assignments, such as CEO, President, Executive Vice President and general management positions. George is a member of Technology sector and he has conducted senior executive assignments, board searches, succession planning and executive assessment projects for leading international and Chinese corporations. George covers Consumer electronics, Internet, media, software, hardware and convergence spaces.
Previous Experience
Prior to joining Russell Reynolds Associates, George was Managing Director, Greater China Region for Airvana and was responsible for growing business and establishing footprints in their wireless business. Before that, George was with Nortel Networks, where he spent the majority of his career working in the international markets and successfully grew and managed profitable businesses. In addition to working in the U.S., Israel, Brazil, Colombia, Taiwan and China, George held senior leadership positions across spectrum of functional groups within Nortel Networks from product management, operations, major account management to Senior Vice President of the Greater China region. Earlier, George worked for McCaw Cellular (now AT&T). George began his career with GTE's Management and Leadership program.
Education
George received his B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and his E.M.B.A. from Northwestern University, Kellogg Graduate School of Management. George is also a member of inaugurated graduation class of China New Entrepreneur Development Program, a joint program sponsored by the Development Research Center of the State Council of People’s Republic Of China and the Stanford University.
George speaks fluent Mandarin, Shanghainese and English.
