HardWhere Asia/Pacific—Q4 2009

Industry Trends, Moves & Profiles
Trends and Moves in the Hardware Sector

We have witnessed more senior executive changes in regional hardware providers in Q4 2009. As regional players, most companies have gone through different stages of development from brand and diversification strategy to internationalisation strategy and have experienced challenges of recruitment and retention at each stage.

The financial crisis may bring even more senior employment opportunities to Asia as purchases of domestic products and services increase, creating jobs which support more local consumption. However, senior executives with experience in MNC only, will need to understand that good execution in Asia is about adapting (sometimes a little, sometimes a lot) world-class operating standards, management tools and frameworks to the realities of the Asian environment.
