Tao Li is a member of the firm’s Industrial and Natural Resources Sector, and also practices in other areas including investment and financial services. Based in Shanghai, Tao works with both multi-national companies and Chinese companies to meet their talent development needs.
Tao joined the firm from TE Connectivity, a connectivity and sensor component manufacturer, where he most recently served as General Manager for its Energy division in China. His customer base included national energy and utility companies, as well as various industry customers. Before that, he was a senior Consultant for Boston Consulting Group in their Shanghai office, where he advised both multi-national and local companies in the industry and energy sector. Earlier, Tao spent 10 years in Houston at Schlumberger, the world’s largest oilfield services company, where he held roles of increasing responsibility including developing software platform, and managing supply chain.
Tao holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, an M.S. in electrical engineering from the Harbin Institute of Technology, an M.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Houston and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago's Booth Business School.
