Jack "Rusty" O'Kelley III
Rusty O'Kelley is a member of the firm's CEO and Board Services Practice. He leads the firm's Board Consulting and Evaluation Practice globally. His other areas of expertise include CEO succession planning and board search. He has significant experience in the financial services, healthcare and retail industries. Rusty is based in New York.
Prior to joining the firm, Rusty led the Leadership Consulting Practice for the Americas for a global executive search and consulting firm where he focused on board effectiveness and governance, CEO succession planning and top-team effectiveness. Rusty has led board effectiveness and board consulting engagements for Fortune 500 boards across a variety of industries. He also designed and managed CEO succession planning for Fortune 500 companies, private equity funds, and hedge funds. Before that, he was with Katzenbach Partners, a leading organizational and strategy consulting firm, where he developed and led the firm's CEO succession planning and transition practice. Rusty began his career as a corporate lawyer at Sullivan & Cromwell where he focused on bank mergers and acquisitions, securities regulation and corporate governance.
Rusty earned his B.S. as valedictorian, summa cum laude, in accounting from Hampton University and his J.D. from Yale Law School. He has also served on the boards of Hampton University, Bennett College, New Yorkers for Children and the Yale Law School Fund.
