Doug Orr is a member of the firm’s Global Industrial/Natural Resources Sector and Financial Officers Practice. He specializes in serving clients in the upstream, midstream and oilfield equipment and services space as well as industrial service companies. Doug’s recent assignments include CEO and COO work in the energy services industry as well as a wide range of financial officer engagements including CFO, CAO, and treasurer engagements for joint ventures and both public and private equity portfolio companies across the sector. Doug is based in Houston.
Prior to joining the firm, Doug served as an Engineer Officer in the U.S. Marine Corps. During his tenure in the Marines, Doug held multiple command and staff positions across the organization. He was deployed four times in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (Iraq) and Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan). Additionally, Doug served as the Explosive Obstacles & Hazards Branch Head within the Marine Corps Engineer Center of Excellence where he was responsible for the training of 30,000 Marines in Counter-Improvised Explosive Device (C-IED) techniques in preparation for deployments overseas. Doug was twice selected to serve as a liaison to foreign nations to provide engineer training.
Doug is a member of the Advisory Council for the United Service Organization (USO) in Houston. Additionally, he is a member of the Advisory Council for Eyes on Me, Inc. ministry.
Doug holds a B.S. in political science from the United States Naval Academy.
