Bennett Hanig

Bennett Hanig, Ph.D.

Bennett Hanig is a senior member of the firm's Global Executive Assessment practice. Working with CEOs, boards and senior executives, Bennett's consulting centers around the assessment, benchmarking, development and succession of executive and high potential management talent. He also works with private equity firms to provide pre-and-post M&A due diligence and counsels clients on the integration of their talent management processes. Bennett works within a broad range of business sectors including global industrial, consumer products, life sciences, financial services and technology. 

Recent Client Experience

Bennett's recent engagements have focused on talent benchmarking and CEO succession planning. For example, he recently worked with the board of a $23B public company to evaluate the succession-readiness of their internal CEO candidates while helping them to benchmark those candidates against the external market for talent.   

Previous Experience

Bennett has 15 years of experience in executive assessment and development. Prior to joining Russell Reynolds Associates, he was the Chief Talent Officer of International Flavors & Fragrances where his global responsibilities included succession planning, leadership development, management assessment, performance management and recruiting.  Prior to IFF, Bennett was a Senior Partner and Region Head in the talent management practice of a global executive search firm. In that role, his client work centered around senior executive assessment, leadership development and succession planning. Earlier in his career, Bennett was a Senior Consultant at a large leadership consulting firm where he managed complex client engagements and trained the firm's consultants on executive assessment. 

Additional Professional Activities

Bennett has written and lectured on a variety of leadership topics and his insights have appeared in publications such as SHRM's Staffing Management Magazine and Fortune. He is a licensed psychologist in the State of New York and is a member of the American Psychological Association, Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology and Columbia University Alumni Association.  

Education

Bennett received his B.A. with honors from the State University of New York at New Paltz and his M.Phil., M.S. and  Ph.D. degrees in psychology from Columbia University.
