Amy Hayes

Amy Hayes works with boards, CEOs and senior-level executives of leading global organizations to create and execute assessment programs for her clients.  Based in Atlanta, Amy leads large-scale engagements across sectors and geographies for clients including Fortune 100, public and private companies.  She specializes in assignments focused on senior-level succession planning, and works with boards to ensure high levels of corporate governance. She also works with Private Equity firms and provides pre-and-post M&A due diligence and counsels clients during corporate restructuring. Amy also leads engagements with leadership teams to examine their current and desired culture and improve the culture to better align with strategic goals and ensure the fit of prospective talent.

Recent Client Experience

Amy's recent engagements include helping a new CEO understand the talent strengths and gaps in his leadership team and transform the culture to align with his strategy. She recently conducted a leadership assessment of the top sixty senior executives related to the merger of two banks. She has also worked with a number of boards to help them drive their succession planning processes and make decisions about C-level appointments.

Previous Experience

Amy has a Ph.D. in industrial and organizational psychology and has previous experience consulting in both the public and private sectors. Prior to joining Russell Reynolds Associates, Amy worked as a Management Consultant focusing on coaching and leadership development, succession planning, selection decision, behavioral interviewing and strategic planning.

Additional Professional Activities

Amy's research has been cited in books and published in professional journals such as the American Psychological Association's Small Group Research. She has presented her research and insights about personality and leadership success at several professional association meetings, including the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology. Amy was also a key contributor to the firm's recent study Different Is Better: Why Diversity Matters in the Boardroom.

Education

Amy received her B.S. in psychology from Virginia Tech, and her M.S. and Ph.D. in industrial and organizational psychology from Virginia Tech.
